Counseling Theories

1 Peter 1:7

A counseling approach that integrates Christian principles while being respectful and supportive of people from other faiths. It integrates Christian values while honoring the diversity of beliefs that each client brings to the table. The ultimate goal is to help clients find healing, meaning, and growth while respecting their spiritual and cultural background. This will also merge with many career theorists before, such as Anne Roe, whose theories you can read about briefly below.

Anne Roe

Anne believes that early childhood development, parental  and authoritative relationships affects or impact future occupational choices. This would imply that our experiences as a child and relationships with other adults (mentors, teachers and more)  may persuade us to choose certain career paths.

What can we learn from
1 Peter 1:7?

1 Peter 1:7 teaches that the trials Christians face serve a purpose. They test and refine their faith, proving its genuine value. While these trials are painful, the outcome is eternal and worth far more than anything material (like gold). Ultimately, the believers’ faith will result in praise, glory, and honor when Christ returns. This verse encourages believers to see their suffering not as meaningless, but as part of God’s plan to purify their faith and prepare them for eternal reward
